What we collect

TaxSplit collects only the information you provide to calculate your fair tax split: income amounts, withholding amounts, and names (optional). If you create an account, we store your email address and saved calculations.

How we store your data

Calculator data entered without an account is stored only in your browser (localStorage) and is never sent to our servers. Account data is stored in Supabase (managed Postgres, hosted in the US) and is associated with your account.

Cookies

We use the following cookies:

  • sb-* (essential): Supabase authentication cookies for logged-in users. Required for saving calculations and sharing results. Cannot be disabled.
  • cookie-consent (essential): Stores your cookie preference.
  • Google AdSense cookies (optional): Used to show relevant advertisements. Only active if you accept cookies. You can decline these via the cookie consent banner.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Supabase: Managed Postgres and authentication. Stores your account email, saved calculations, and session data. See Supabase's Privacy Policy.
  • Google (OAuth sign-in + AdSense): If you sign in with Google, Google provides us your email and name only. AdSense may use cookies to personalize ads. See Google's Privacy Policy.

Shared calculations

When you share a calculation, a unique link is created. Anyone with the link can view the results, including names, income amounts, and settlement details. Shared calculations are not indexed by search engines. You can remove sharing at any time from your account.

Your rights

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time. Calculator data stored in your browser can be cleared by resetting the calculator or clearing your browser data. To request data deletion, contact us at the email below.
